60-80% of Sharpie packaging is made from recyclable materials.  Sharpie has created the world's first upcycling program for used markers and other writing instruments.
Beginning in 2010, Sharpie has partnered with Terracycle to take your old Sharpies and create entirely new products!  Look for the “Writing Instrument Brigade” collection center to give away your used Sharpie products.  For every writing instrument collected, two cents will be donated to a school, community group, charity or non-profit.
